Will it work with my existing dish?
- Yes — if that dish is a DD Free Dish antenna, still aligned, with the cable run intact.
- No — if the dish was installed for a different operator, has been knocked out of alignment, or you have never had DD Free Dish before. In that case you need the complete connection.
Why MPEG-4 matters
This is the reason most people end up here. DD Free Dish now broadcasts in MPEG-4. An older MPEG-2 receiver physically cannot decode the current line-up, so you get a short list, or a lot of blank channels, and rescanning does nothing at all. An MPEG-4 box brings the full list back.
Setting it up yourself
- Connect the box to your television — HDMI, or AV on an older set.
- Screw the coaxial cable from the dish into the box.
- Power on, open Menu → Installation → Auto Scan.
- Let the scan finish without switching off, then save.

Want it installed as well? You can ask for installation at any time, even after the box has arrived. If you need a dish as well, the technician brings the antenna, LNB, cable and fittings and the charge is Rs 1,100, paid to him once it is working. If your dish is already up it only needs aligning, which is Rs 300.
Installation, if and when you want it — anywhere in India
If your dish is already up and aligned, this receiver is all you need. If it is not, our own installation team will come and set the whole thing up — we have been fitting DTH connections across India since 2004.
Ask for it when you order, or later. Send a message on WhatsApp 9729991794 and the technician is scheduled, normally within 24 hours. He brings a new dish antenna, LNB, cable and fittings, aligns it, scans the channels, and the Rs 1,100 is paid to him once it is working.
Already have a dish on the roof? It will work.
You almost certainly do not need a new antenna. A dish that was put up for Tata Play, Dish TV or any other DTH brand receives DD Free Dish perfectly well — it only has to be re-aligned to the DD Free Dish satellite, GSAT-15 at 93.5°E. If the dish is still standing and the cable run is intact, this receiver is all you need.

I already have a dish. Who will align it?

Does this include the dish antenna?
No. This is the set-top box only. If you need the dish, LNB, cabling and installation as well, buy the DD Free Dish Complete Connection.
Is there any monthly charge?
None. DD Free Dish is free-to-air. You pay once for the hardware and there is no subscription or recharge at any point.
How many channels will I get?
Over a hundred free-to-air television channels plus radio services. The exact list is set by the platform and changes from time to time.
Will it work with my old dish?
Yes, if it is a DD Free Dish antenna, still aligned, with the cable intact. If it was set up for a different operator you will need the complete connection.
Why does MPEG-4 matter?
DD Free Dish broadcasts in MPEG-4. An older MPEG-2 box cannot receive the current line-up, so an MPEG-4 box restores the full channel list.

How soon will it be installed?

Do you install everywhere in India?
Yes. We have our own installation network across India and have been fitting DTH connections since 2004.
Why does the dish antenna not come with the box?
Because a dish sent by courier arrives bent, and a bent dish will not hold signal. The technician brings a new antenna with him and aligns it on site.
What if my television has no HDMI socket?
Tell us before dispatch and we will send an RCA cable instead of the HDMI cable.
How much cable is included?
Ten metres, along with the RG6 connectors. More than that is rarely needed; if your house does need extra, it is charged at Rs 12 per metre.
I already have a Tata Play or Dish TV dish. Can I use it for DD Free Dish?
Yes. Any DTH dish antenna will receive DD Free Dish once it is re-aligned to the DD Free Dish satellite, GSAT-15 at 93.5 degrees East. You do not need to buy a new antenna — only this MPEG-4 receiver.
Can I buy just the box now and have it installed later?
Yes. Ask whenever you like - the installation charge is Rs 1,100, paid to the technician once the connection is working.
